Two MRT lines meet at Dapinglin, city living along Beixin Road
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Dapinglin Station is a transfer station for the Songshan-Xindian Line and the Circular Line, right at the intersection of Beixin Road and Minquan Road as you exit. Walking south along Beixin Road for about 900 meters brings you to Qizhang Station, and the neighborhood between the two stations forms one continuous area, all part of this neighborhood. This area has only become built up in recent decades: about 30 years ago, Dafeng Village had only Dafeng Road, Ershizhang Road, and Dafeng Elementary School, with everything else being farmland. Now the buildings stand one after another, and there's not a single patch of green space left in the village. Head north to the Jingmei River, and across the river is Jingmei in Taipei City.
Both lines connect at the same station, so public transit here ranks 22nd out of the 100 neighborhoods in New Taipei City. Qizhang Station is the transfer station for the Xiaobitan branch line, so you can change trains here to reach Xiaobitan in the neighboring neighborhood. If you need a major hospital, Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital on Jianguo Road is within the neighborhood, and it's been rated as a medical center since 2024. Daily convenience ranks 29th—both stations sit on Beixin Road, so your everyday routes all connect along this one road.
Greenery ranks 53rd, in the middle—there's no green space to be found around Dafeng Village. Construction on the Circular Line's southern section started in March 2025 and won't be finished until 2031, so there will be construction along the route for the next several years.
Place names like Qizhang and Ershizhang come from land units used during the era of land reclamation—one zhang lifen (a plow-share unit) was about 5 jia. Qizhang was reclaimed during the Qianlong era by settlers from Anxi, Quanzhou, led by Liu Bingsheng and others, who cleared seven zhang lifen, about 35 jia, which is how the area got its name. In 1753, Xiao Miaoxing and other reclamation leaders of the five villages of Dapinglin signed a contract with Guo Xiliu to take over construction of the irrigation canal, and in 1760 they broke through the rock at Shikong to channel water to irrigate this plain. Baoxing Village, to the north near the Jingmei River, belonged to the Baodouzhu area during the Qing Dynasty. The Songshan-Xindian Line opened in November 1999, bringing Dapinglin Station into service, and the Circular Line began operating here too in January 2020.
The comprehensive plan for the Circular Line's southern section was approved by the Executive Yuan in May 2019, and the Department of Rapid Transit Systems is aiming for completion in 2031. This section broke ground in March 2025, running east from Dapinglin Station across the Jingmei River and along Muzha Road; once it opens, you'll be able to transfer directly to the Wenhu Line at Taipei Zoo Station.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
