01First impressions

Qingtang Park was originally an irrigation pond, and in 2007 it was converted into an ecological park, with a gentle slope down to the water, an observation deck, and a wooden boardwalk along the waterside. Next to the park is the Taoyuan Children's Art Museum, which began trial operations in April 2024. Heading south to the southern edge of the neighborhood, Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium is the home field of the Rakuten Monkeys, with a full capacity of about 18,000 seats. To the north, Taoyuan HSR Station connects to Airport MRT Station A18.

02What works

Transportation is this neighborhood's strong point - it has three Airport MRT stations, A17, A18, and A19, and ranks 2nd out of Taoyuan's 11 neighborhoods for public transit. The walking environment is also good, ranking 2nd for sidewalks as well. If you feel like a stroll, head to Qingtang Park, a 6.34-hectare park with a wooden boardwalk along the waterside.

03Heads-up

Daily shopping is a weak point, ranking last - 11th out of Taoyuan's 11 neighborhoods. Healthcare is also near the bottom, ranking 10th. A fair amount of the neighborhood's land was never meant for housing in the first place - it includes the Laojie River floodway, an MRT depot, an industry-only zone, and the HSR station zone.

04A bit of history

Taoyuan HSR Station opened in November 2006, built underground because of height restrictions due to the nearby Taoyuan Air Force Base. What the property market calls Qingpu is actually the roughly 490-hectare Taoyuan HSR Station Special District, bounded on the east and west by the Xinjie River and the Qiaxi River. In 2007, Qingtang Park was converted into an ecological park. At the end of 2009, the baseball stadium opened. On March 2, 2017, the Airport MRT opened, with Station A18 located just north of the HSR station. In April 2024, the Children's Art Museum began trial operations next to Qingtang Park.

05What's coming

Construction on the main building of the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts began in 2018, and it was originally supposed to be finished in 2022, but it has been delayed again and again. According to an October 2026 report, the main structure is being completed in stages, with the opening expected in the first quarter of 2028.

How are these measured?

Compared against the Taoyuan neighborhoods in this guide; metrics without enough data are not ranked. Shopping counts convenience stores plus the nearer of a supermarket or a traditional market (public and private retail markets); night markets, vendor zones and shopping-street shops are not counted. Transit is rail-first with a lower weight for buses.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. About data limits
