A new neighbourhood by a 10-hectare forest park, with lots of children
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Longzi Li is home to more than twenty thousand people, and kids under 14 make up 18.9% of them—nearly double Kaohsiung's overall 10.6%. For these families, the nearest playground is right in the middle of the neighborhood. The roughly 10-hectare Aozihdi Forest Park has a sand pit, a spiral slide, and a splash pad in addition to its bike paths. South of the park is Longhua Elementary School, and further south on Dashun 1st Road is Longhua Elementary School Station on the Circular Light Rail.
The light rail station takes its name from the school, which was already slated for the area during the zone expropriation and moved into new buildings at the corner of Dashun 1st Road and Longde Road in 2009. Head east along Dashun 1st Road to the intersection with Bo'ai 2nd Road and you'll find Aozihdi Station on the MRT Red Line, with Heart of Love River Station on the light rail right next door. The two lines connect here outside the stations, which is why public transit ranks 4th among Kaohsiung's 13 neighborhoods. Also on that stretch of Dashun 1st Road is E-Square, a mixed-use building combining a shopping mall with the Kaohsiung Marriott Hotel; the mall opened in April 2021. Greenery ranks 2nd among Kaohsiung's 13 neighborhoods, thanks mainly to the forest park mentioned above.
Grocery shopping is a weak point—daily shopping ranks 12th among Kaohsiung's 13 neighborhoods, and most blocks are more than 600 meters from the nearest supermarket. This neighborhood covers the whole of Longzi Li in Gushan District, a larger area than the official Nong 16 zone expropriation area, stretching all the way south to the Love River. That said, the lake at the Heart of Love River itself sits just outside the southern edge, in Sanmin District—this neighborhood only has the light rail station of the same name.
In January 1997, the city government announced the Aozihdi Nong 16 zone expropriation, covering the area west of Bo'ai Road, east of Zhonghua Road, north of Dashun Road, and south of Mingcheng Road. About 24.8 of the 66 hectares were designated as public facilities from the start. Construction began in March 2000 and finished in December 2002. The forest park's site originally included 5.2 hectares zoned for commercial use, which the city decided in 2007 to fold into the 4.8-hectare park plot. The two pieces were developed together into the park, completed in May 2009. In October 2022, the Circular Light Rail opened through to Heart of Love River Station.
Compared with the 13 Kaohsiung neighborhoods in this guide (scores 0–10)
Hospitals with inpatient beds (2020 data), public elementary and junior high schools whose catchment covers this area, high schools and universities within 1 km, stations, parks of 1 ha or more, and large shopping malls and department stores. Many Tokyo junior high students attend private schools, so junior high catchments are only a guide.
Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
