01First impressions

Cailiao Station sits underground on Chongxin Road Section 3, right in the administrative heart of Sanchong. Chongxin Road runs through downtown Sanchong and is one of the most important roads between Xinzhuang and Taipei, with the MRT Zhonghe–Xinlu Line running beneath it. Right outside the station you'll find the Sanchong District Office and New Taipei City Hospital Sanchong Branch, along with Guozhen Park nearby. Exit 3 leads straight up into Zhongshan Art Park. To the north is Sanchong Comprehensive Stadium with its 400-meter track, and to the east is Air Force Sanchong 1st Village, now converted into a military dependents' village cultural park.

02What works

Seeing a doctor is easy here — healthcare ranks 7th among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods, with New Taipei City Hospital Sanchong Branch right next to Cailiao Station, and its Emergency and Critical Care Building opened in December 2015. Greenery ranks 24th, with Guozhen Park and Zhongshan Art Park giving everyday life a place to stroll. The stadium to the north hosted women's soccer matches during the 2017 Summer Universiade.

03Heads-up

This neighborhood only has one MRT station, Cailiao Station, and public transit ranks 18th among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods. Taipei Bridge Station and Sanchong Station are both in neighboring neighborhoods, not this one. This neighborhood spans several elementary school districts, including Sanguang, Xiude, and Guangxing Elementary Schools, so be sure to check the school district by address when house-hunting.

04A bit of history

The name Cailiao is very old — this area was already called Cailiao even before Sanchong was known as Sanchongpu. In the early days there were many vegetable gardens here, and farmers built thatched sheds among the plots, which is how the name came about. Cailiao Station opened in January 2012 when the Xinzhuang Line began service, with "New Taipei Municipal Hospital" as its secondary station name. To the east of the neighborhood, Air Force Sanchong 1st Village, an old military dependents' village site next to Guangxing Elementary School, opened as a park in November 2018 and is now the New Taipei City Military Dependents' Village Cultural Park.

How are these measured?

Compared against the New Taipei neighborhoods in this guide; metrics without enough data are not ranked. Shopping counts convenience stores plus the nearer of a supermarket or a traditional market (public and private retail markets); night markets, vendor zones and shopping-street shops are not counted. Transit is rail-first with a lower weight for buses.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. About data limits
