01First impressions

The area around Jimei Street is a residential neighborhood in Sanchong, with schools, parks, the Social Education Hall, and the sports center all clustered together here. The Sanchong Social Education Hall regularly hosts exhibitions, theater performances, and concerts, and in the alley next to it, Rose Park has a greenhouse botanical garden. The Sanchong Civil Sports Center has a swimming pool, a climbing wall, and an archery range. This whole neighborhood roughly corresponds to the school district for Jimei Elementary School. Heading west to the end, you'll reach Sanchong Station, where the Xinzhuang Line and the Airport Line intersect.

02What works

For everyday shopping, this area ranks 4th out of New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods, with Guangming Public Market right here in the neighborhood so you don't have to go far to buy groceries. Sidewalks rank 6th, making it comfortable for walking to school or taking a stroll. West of Sanchong Station, past Shuiyang Road, is the Erchong Floodway. This roughly 424-hectare flood diversion channel was later turned into New Taipei Metropolitan Park, which has bike paths and baseball fields.

03Heads-up

Even though Sanchong Station serves two lines, it sits on the western edge of the neighborhood, on the east side of the Erchong Floodway—not in the heart of Sanchongpu. New Taipei City Hospital's Sanchong Branch and the Sanchong District Office are next door to the east, in the Cailiao neighborhood, not in this one. The major hospital within this neighborhood is Hong Ren Hospital, right by Sanchong Station, which only moved here from Sanhe Road in January 2024.

04A bit of history

When the Airport MRT was being planned, Sanchong Station was originally slated to be called "Fuyin," named after Fuyin Street, the old name of Jieyun Road. Later, the Airport Line adopted the same station name as the Xinzhuang Line, so even though this spot isn't in the center of Sanchongpu, it's still called Sanchong Station. The Xinzhuang Line opened in January 2012, and the Airport Line followed in March 2017. The Erchong Floodway on the west side of the neighborhood is about 7.7 kilometers long; the flood control plan was approved in 1979 and completed in 1984.

How are these measured?

Compared against the New Taipei neighborhoods in this guide; metrics without enough data are not ranked. Shopping counts convenience stores plus the nearer of a supermarket or a traditional market (public and private retail markets); night markets, vendor zones and shopping-street shops are not counted. Transit is rail-first with a lower weight for buses.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. About data limits
