01First impressions

Shops line both sides of Wuhua Street one after another, and it's also another shortcut from Sanchong to Luzhou. Nearby Bihua Street once had over two hundred fabric shops on a single street, and it's now been turned into the Taiwan Fabric Shops Museum Park. Heading southeast to the area next to National Freeway No. 1 is the Renyi Section land readjustment zone, which used to be industrial land.

02What works

In street-view photos, this neighborhood ranks 16th out of New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods for street environment and 14th for sidewalks, both in the upper tier. It ranks 33rd for greenery.

03Heads-up

There's currently no MRT station within the neighborhood—the nearest one, Sanhe Junior High School Station, is about 400 meters to the southwest, but that's already in a different neighborhood. As a result, this neighborhood ranks 69th out of New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods for public transit, so you'll need to budget extra time for buses or biking when heading out. It also ranks 66th for everyday convenience, meaning daily errands take a bit more walking than in other neighborhoods.

04A bit of history

Bihua Street was at its most prosperous around the 1970s and 1980s. Back then, shop owners and workers hauled bolts of fabric together for deliveries, jokingly calling themselves "fabric oxen" for working like beasts of burden. Later, as the industry moved overseas, the number of fabric shops dropped to only about sixty, and Bihua Elementary School principal Cai Baojun proposed transforming the street, turning it into the Taiwan Fabric Shops Museum Park. Bihua Elementary School itself is located in Fufu Village within the neighborhood. To the southeast, the Renyi Section is a 22.28-hectare self-organized land readjustment zone on the north side of National Freeway No. 1, bordering Wuhua Street, Ziqiang Road, Renyi Street, and Longmen Road.

05What's coming

The Circular Line's Northern Section will have two underground stations along Jixian Road on the neighborhood's northern edge. Station Y22 will sit between Wuhua Street and Ruyi Street, while Station Y23 will be in front of Wuhua Elementary School. The New Taipei City Department of Rapid Transit Systems expects the Northern Section to be completed in 2031, and as of August 2026 both stations were still working on diaphragm walls.

How are these measured?

Compared against the New Taipei neighborhoods in this guide; metrics without enough data are not ranked. Shopping counts convenience stores plus the nearer of a supermarket or a traditional market (public and private retail markets); night markets, vendor zones and shopping-street shops are not counted. Transit is rail-first with a lower weight for buses.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. About data limits
