01First impressions

Fuduxin, Xinzhuang's new subcenter, is full of new buildings and wide roads. The high-rises are concentrated in the commercial district on the north side, where most buildings mix residential and office space together. Honhui Plaza, on Xinbei Boulevard at the north edge, is the place to go shopping here—the mall covers about 31,000 ping and has around 400 brands. Head south to Zhongping Road and you'll find the Executive Yuan Xinzhuang Joint Office Building, which houses both the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Labor. Head east to Zhonggang Drainage Canal, where Wenzaidi Wetland Park is good for a walk.

02What works

Walking along these wide roads, Fuduxin ranks 1st out of 100 neighborhoods in New Taipei for building appearance in street-view photos, and 4th for sidewalks. For getting around, you can rely on the Airport MRT Line—Xinzhuang Fuduxin Station is about 40 meters outside the neighborhood's north edge and runs straight to Taoyuan Airport. About 150 meters outside the neighborhood's northeast corner is New Taipei Industrial Park Station, where you can transfer to the Circular Line. If you want to catch a film or exhibition, the new building of the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute is also in Fuduxin.

03Heads-up

There aren't many everyday shops among the buildings yet, so the neighborhood only ranks 42nd for convenience of daily life. Most supermarkets are more than 600 meters away, so grocery shopping often means making a special trip. This area used to be a low-lying flood retention zone, so when viewing a place, it's worth asking about the drainage design for basements and parking areas.

04A bit of history

Fuduxin used to be almost entirely marshland, low-lying and originally used for flood retention; it was only rezoned into a new city center after the Taipei County Government lifted flood control restrictions. The long-term vision for the area was modeled on Tokyo's Shinjuku Subcenter. In 2010, the New Taipei City Government auctioned off all the commercial and residential land outside the public facilities. Government agencies and facilities moved in one after another: the Joint Office Building opened in January 2014, and the Airport MRT began service in March 2017. Honhui Plaza opened in September 2020, and the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute's new building was completed in January 2022. Starting in 2020, demand for commercial office space rose, with multiple companies buying land there to build their headquarters.

How are these measured?

Compared against the New Taipei neighborhoods in this guide; metrics without enough data are not ranked. Shopping counts convenience stores plus the nearer of a supermarket or a traditional market (public and private retail markets); night markets, vendor zones and shopping-street shops are not counted. Transit is rail-first with a lower weight for buses.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. About data limits
