Wide straight roads through the 8th Redevelopment Zone, between the sculpture park and the small parks dotted around
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Come out of the only exit at Feng-le Park Station and you're standing right inside Nanyuan Park. Walk about 400 meters along Wenxin South 5th Road, Section 1, and you'll reach Fengle Sculpture Park, where 52 sculptures are scattered across 6 hectares of lawns and an artificial lake. All around is the residential area of the 8th Redevelopment Zone, with wide, straight streets—turn a corner and you'll often find yet another park. The neighborhood also has the Showtime Live mall and Costco, plus Yongchun Elementary School and Wanhe Junior High School.
Besides Fengle Sculpture Park and Nanyuan Park, there are plenty of neighborhood parks too, so there's no shortage of places to take the kids or walk the dog. For greenery, this neighborhood ranks 3rd among Taichung's 47 neighborhoods, and for streetscape it does even better, ranking 2nd. Besides Feng-le Park Station, the neighborhood's north corner also has Nantun Station, right on Wenxin Road at the border between the 8th and 5th Redevelopment Zones. On Dadun South Road stands the Taichung Mosque, completed in 1990, and the nearby bus stop is named after it.
Daily shopping ranks 22nd and healthcare 23rd, putting this neighborhood in the middle of the pack for Taichung—not as strong as its greenery and streetscape scores. The only exit at Nantun Station is on the northeast corner of the intersection with Wuquan West Road, which is on the 5th Zone side, so if you're coming from the 8th Zone you'll need to cross Wenxin Road first to catch the train. To the south of the neighborhood is the still-developing 13th Daqing Redevelopment Zone, where there are still quite a few vacant lots and construction sites—if you live near the southern edge, the surrounding scenery will keep changing as development continues.
The 8th Redevelopment Zone's official name is the 8th Fengle Urban Land Readjustment Zone, completed between 1988 and 1991; before that it was a farming area with messy, fragmented land records. The traditional place name for the Fengle Village area is Macipu—originally written with a different character for "ma"—and in 1920 it became the Macipu ward under Nantun Village. Fengle Sculpture Park opened in 1994, after the land readjustment was completed. The MRT station began service on April 25, 2021, and during planning it was named Macipu Station.

TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
