01First impressions

This neighborhood grew up around Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. The hospital opened in 1978, taking its name from Linkou New Town, though its actual address is in Guishan, Taoyuan. The Taoyuan Airport MRT's A8 Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station sits at the intersection of Wenhua 1st Road and Fuxing 1st Road, with a shopping mall and hotel built right above the station. North of the hospital is the Taoyuan Chang Gung Bus Station, which opened at the end of 2022, with a passageway connecting to the MRT through the hospital's basement.

02What works

Starting with the MRT station: A8 is the only station on the Taoyuan Airport MRT where express and commuter trains stop side by side, so transferring just means walking to the other side of the same platform. This neighborhood ranks 3rd for neighborhood environment and 3rd for daily convenience, both near the top among Taoyuan's 11 neighborhoods. Wenxin Elementary School is on Wenchang 5th Street, and Dagang Junior High School is on Wenhua 2nd Road, so kids don't need to leave the neighborhood for school.

03Heads-up

Daily shopping is the weak point here, ranking 8th. Bade Road to the north marks the city boundary — the Linkou, New Taipei side also has Wenhua 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Roads, and the roads keep their names across the city line, so check carefully which city an address falls under. To the south is the Huaya Technology Park, which separates this neighborhood from the A7 neighborhood. Chang Gung University and Chang Gung University of Science and Technology are not in this neighborhood — don't be misled by the name.

04A bit of history

Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital opened on December 1, 1978. It was founded by Wang Yung-ching and is part of the Formosa Plastics Group's healthcare system. The Taoyuan Airport MRT began operation on March 2, 2017, and the A8 Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station opened at the same time. In December 2022, the Taoyuan Chang Gung Bus Station north of the hospital was completed and opened.

05What's coming

Construction on the hospital's new medical building began in 2024, with completion expected in 2029, adding roughly 870 new beds.

How are these measured?

Compared against the Taoyuan neighborhoods in this guide; metrics without enough data are not ranked. Shopping counts convenience stores plus the nearer of a supermarket or a traditional market (public and private retail markets); night markets, vendor zones and shopping-street shops are not counted. Transit is rail-first with a lower weight for buses.

TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. About data limits
