Homes along Nanya Street and the Guanghua redevelopment area
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Heading north from Jingguo Road onto Nanya Street, you'll find RT-Mart right by the road—this store happens to straddle the border between Nanya Village and Guanghua Village. Locals call this area the Nanya Commercial District, where the Guanghua Land Readjustment Zone, Nanya Street, Wuling Road, and Nanzhong Street all connect into one stretch, bounded by Jingguo Road to the south and Tiedao Road to the north.
For everyday shopping, this area ranks 3rd among Hsinchu's 9 neighborhoods—RT-Mart and the shops on Nanya Street are more than enough for daily needs. It also ranks 3rd for greenery, with Nanya Park right inside the neighborhood. For kids' schooling, Zaixi Elementary School, Jiushe Elementary School, and Guanghua Junior High School are all within this neighborhood. If you're driving toward Zhudong, the Hsinchu No. 1 Interchange on Provincial Highway 68 is right on Wuling Road to the north.
Public transit ranks 7th—there's no train station within the neighborhood, and the nearest one, Beixinzhu Station, is still about 1 km away. The neighborhood's southern border is Jingguo Road, which you'll need to cross to reach the old city area.
The character used for 'Nan' in Nanya was originally written as a rarer character meaning waterlogged mud, and the place name Nanzi was usually written as Nanya. The name came about because this area sat in a wetland behind the natural embankment of the Touqian River, and the land was often submerged in water in the early days. During the Qing dynasty, the official road heading north from Zhuqian City passed through here, and quite a few memorial arches honoring chastity and filial piety were erected along the roadside—two of them, belonging to the Zhang and Su families, still stand within the neighborhood today. In 1839, the areas of Shuitian Village and Nanya Village outside the city walls began to flourish, and the authorities started considering whether to add another ring of earthen walls; the earthen wall was completed in 1842. In 1920, Nanya Village was reorganized into Nanya Ward.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
