The walk-to-work rental belt south of the park

Jinshan Street is right next to Hsinchu Science Park, less than a 5-minute walk into the park, and both AUO's and MediaTek's headquarters are right next door. Many of the units on the street are studios rented out to newcomers working in the park, and shops along the street cater to engineers' late hours with midnight food, some staying open 24 hours. Guangfu Road Section 1 to the north marks the edge of this area — cross it and you're in Guanpu.
For greenery, this area ranks 2nd among Hsinchu's 9 neighborhoods — Jinshanmian Park sits right in Jinshan Li, so you can take a stroll there after work. Everyday convenience ranks 3rd, and tucked in a lane nearby is the Jinshan Branch of the city library, so you don't have to go downtown to borrow books on weekends. Commuting couldn't be easier — just walk a few minutes and you're at the park. If you've got a high schooler at home, Shijie Senior High School on Guangfu Road Section 1 is also within this area.
For public transit, it ranks 4th — there's no train station within the area, and both Zhuzhong Station and Xinzhuang Station require a walk of 400 to 600 meters or more. The city government itself acknowledges that the area around Hsinchu Science Park has long been congested, so if you're driving during peak hours, give yourself extra time. Housing here is mostly studios; according to a report by Global Views Monthly, newcomers typically move out after about three years, with many heading next to the Guanpu Land Consolidation Area.
Jinshanmian is an old place name for the easternmost part of East District, roughly covering today's Jinshan Li, Xianshui Li, and the eastern half of Keyuan Li. From the late Qing dynasty through the early Japanese colonial era, this area was called Jinshanmian Zhuang; in 1920 it was changed to Jinshanmian Oaza, and it wasn't until after the war that it was split into several li. In 1980, Hsinchu Science Park was established, and ever since, daily life in this area has revolved mostly around the park.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
