Residential south Banqiao, where Far Eastern Hospital and a university connect to the MRT station
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Yadong is a long, narrow residential strip south of Banqiao, with life here revolving around Far Eastern Hospital Station. Step out of the station and you're connected directly to Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, which sits inside Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park, right next to Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology. For groceries, head to Houpu Market in Xiangyun Village; for books, the New Taipei City Library Main Branch on Guixing Road—both are within the neighborhood.
Healthcare ranks 12th among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods—Far Eastern Hospital Station connects directly to the hospital, so you can go from the MRT straight to your appointment without ever leaving the station. Judging from street-view photos, the building quality ranks 23rd, putting it in the upper tier. The school zoning is straightforward too: all 3 villages in Xinyi Elementary School's base zone fall within the neighborhood, and 8 of the 11 villages for Houpu Elementary School are also inside it.
The neighborhood is a long, narrow strip bounded on the west by Provincial Highway 65, and it narrows to a thin neck around Xinyi Village, so when house-hunting, pay attention to the actual walking distance to the station and the hospital. There's only one MRT station in the neighborhood, Far Eastern Hospital Station, which is why public transit ranks 28th and overall convenience ranks 22nd among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods. Check the school zoning carefully: part of Xinyi Elementary School's campus land actually sits in Tucheng District, and Houpu Elementary School has another 3 villages lying outside the neighborhood to the east.
In 1969, Far Eastern Group founder Y.Z. Hsu established the Yadong Industrial Technical Junior College, the forerunner of today's Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology. In 1981, he donated funds to found Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, because the Banqiao and Tucheng area was packed with factories at the time but had no large modern hospital. Far Eastern Hospital Station opened in 2006 along with the Tucheng Line; it was originally going to be called "Nanzi," but the name was changed to its current one before the line opened, and the station was connected directly to the hospital in 2016.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
