Xinban Special District — city hall, a civic square and department stores around Banqiao Station's four-rail hub
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Walk out of Banqiao Station and New Taipei City Hall is right across from you, with the big Civic Plaza out front. The year-end Christmasland festival and the Lantern Festival are both held on this plaza. On the other side of the station are malls like Global Mall, Far Eastern Department Store, and Eslite, linked back to the station by sky bridges and underground passageways. The high-speed rail, Taiwan Railways, and two MRT lines all stop at this one station, so you can catch a train in any direction. If you want to take a breather, head out of the station along Wenhua Road and you'll reach the green lawns of Wanping Metropolitan Park.
The park's green space carries this neighborhood's greenery score, ranking 7th among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods. Public transit ranks 1st, because four kinds of rail lines all stop at the same station, so you can hop on the high-speed rail without ever transferring. Fuzhong Station and Banxin Station are both about 400 meters outside the neighborhood, but Banqiao Station sits right inside it, so you don't have to walk that far to catch the MRT.
This neighborhood covers about 47 hectares, so it's not very big, and most shops are tucked inside the department store malls. Daily shopping ranks 19th and medical care ranks 22nd among New Taipei's 100 neighborhoods. During the weeks of the year-end Christmasland festival, the area around the Civic Plaza gets busy at night, so if you live nearby, give yourself a little extra time getting in and out.
Banqiao's original train station, built in 1952, stood near today's Fuzhong Station, and before the 1990s it was already handling over sixty thousand passenger trips a day. The old station couldn't keep up, so the county government bought up land from a nearby liquor factory and a Taiwan Railways coach yard, and as part of the Wanban Project moved the tracks underground, building the current station, completed in 1999. In January 2003, the county government building was finished right across from the station, and the county government moved over from Fuzhong. Wanping Metropolitan Park beside the plaza used to be Zhuifeng Plaza, a spot where people went skating back in the day.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
