Shops along the main road, quiet in the lanes: a residential area wrapped on three sides by the Jingmei River
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Muxin Road Section 3 is lined with shops, but turn into the lanes and it goes quiet: the lanes are full of small, purely residential buildings. There are plenty of schools too. Jingmei Girls' High School is on the west side of the neighborhood, and Shijian Elementary School, Shijian Junior High School and Lixing Elementary School are all inside it. The Jingmei River wraps around this flat area on three sides: east, south and west.
For everyday shopping the neighborhood ranks 25th out of Taipei's 73, and for groceries there is Muxin Market, a short way east of Jingmei Girls' High School. Muxin Park is in the same area, an easy place for an evening stroll. Down by the river there is also Zhangxin Waterfront Social Housing.
There is no MRT here. The nearest stations, Qizhang and Dapinglin, are each more than a kilometre from the edge of the neighborhood, and public transport ranks second from the bottom among Taipei's 73 neighborhoods. That said, more than 10 bus routes run along Muxin Road, heading towards Xindian, Xinyi District and Gongguan. It is also densely populated: about 28,000 people live in 89 hectares, the densest flat area in Wenshan District.
All five villages (li) in this neighborhood have names beginning with "Zhang", meaning camphor. Wenshan District was once full of camphor trees; camphor extraction died out long ago, but it left place names such as Zhanglin, Zhangjiao and Zhanghu. Jingmei Girls' High School was founded in 1962, when its address was Gangqian, Muzha Township, Taipei County, under the name Taiwan Provincial Jingmei Girls' Senior High School. In 1968 the school came under Taipei City administration.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
