Linjiang Street: a market in the morning, a night market by evening, open till midnight
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Linjiang Street is a market in the morning and a tourist night market after dark; most people call it Tonghua Street Night Market. Stalls set up at 6pm and trade until midnight, along the stretch from Tonghua Street to Keelung Road. Around the night market, Anhe Road Section 2, Tonghua Street and Leli Road are the area's main roads. From Xinyi Anhe Station, beneath Xinyi Road Section 4 on the northern edge, walk south and you are into these streets. At the southern corner of the neighborhood is The Mall at Far Eastern Plaza.
Healthcare ranks 3rd of Taipei's 73 neighborhoods and everyday convenience 11th, so most daily needs are within walking distance. For dinner, you can walk to Linjiang Street Night Market. Xinyi Anhe MRT Station is on the north side, convenient for the Tamsui-Xinyi Line.
Greenery ranks only 61st, and the main green space to sit in is Tonghua Park. Linjiang Street gets very crowded while the night market is open, so if you live next to it, expect that. Keelung Road on the south-east side carries heavy traffic, and flats facing that side will be noisier.
The old name for the area around Xinyi Anhe Station was Beixin, rewritten as Poxin under Japanese rule. A large pond of more than a hundred jia once lay here; its water slowly dried up and the land was filled in. The city government approved Linjiang Street Night Market in 1986, and it was formally named Linjiang Street Tourist Night Market in 1997. The MRT arrived only when the Xinyi Line opened in November 2013, and the station was originally planned as Anhe Road Station. The public artwork on the glass railings of the station concourse is called Water City Taipei.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
