Traditional market by day, a few food stalls by night, with Taipei Medical University right on the street
The closest neighborhoods in the same city.
Besides the department-store-filled Xinyi Planning District, Xinyi District has another side to it — Wuxing Street, where you'll find small eateries that locals have been eating at since their school days all the way through their working years. The stretch of Wuxing Street from No. 165 to No. 269 is the Wuxing commercial area, where traditional markets cluster by day and a scattering of night-market snack stalls takes over in the evening. Taipei Medical University and its affiliated hospital sit right on this stretch, and there are quite a few medical supply shops among the storefronts too.
The hospital is right on the street, and for healthcare this neighborhood ranks 45th among Taipei's 73 neighborhoods — middle of the pack, leaning toward the lower half. For everyday shopping it ranks 45th, with the traditional markets of the Wuxing commercial area covering grocery needs. For elementary school there's Wuxing Elementary School, while the end closer to Keelung Road falls within Sanxing Elementary School's catchment area.
Wuxing Street runs southeast from Keelung Road Section 2 toward the mountains, and the slope becomes noticeably steeper the further in you go — the southern half of Hui'an Village is already up in the hills. Past Taipei Medical University, heading toward Lane 600 and the bus terminal at the end of the street, you're in a quiet, purely residential area close to the mountainside. The neighborhood boundary stops at the outermost houses at the foot of the mountain — the slope itself isn't included. There's no MRT station within the neighborhood; the nearest one, Xiangshan Station, is about 130 meters from the boundary, Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station and Linguang Station are both roughly 300 meters away, and Liuzhangli Station is a bit farther still. In street-view photos, cleanliness here ranks 70th among the 73 neighborhoods — toward the lower end.
Sanzhang Village, which lies within this neighborhood, takes its name from the old place name Sanzhangli: under Qing-dynasty land reclamation permits, land was measured in units called "li" (meaning plow), with each li equal to about five jia, and three li of land were reclaimed here. After the war, Sanzhangli belonged to Songshan District, and it wasn't transferred to Xinyi District until the 1990 administrative boundary reorganization. Taipei Medical University's predecessor, Taipei Medical College, was founded in 1960; its affiliated hospital began operations in 1976, and the college was upgraded to university status in 2000.
Station Y39 on the Circular Line Eastern Section will be built at the intersection of Songren Road and Wuxing Street, right within this neighborhood. The planned site for the station is the bus terminal on Lane 600 of Wuxing Street. According to an August 2026 update from the Taipei City Department of Rapid Transit Systems, the projected completion year is 2034, and after completion the line still needs to go through preliminary and final inspections before an opening date can be announced.

Maps show the shops and the sights. What a street is like, you only know by walking it. TidyMap uses AI street imagery analysis and public facility data to turn each area's street environment and everyday convenience into something you can compare. Search an address and look at the street outside first.
How to read it: yellow = poor, blue = good; grey = not enough data
TidyMap rates the street environment and everyday convenience. It does not assess the home itself, safety, noise or actual living experience. Street environment scores use AI assessments of imagery; convenience scores use public facility data.
